Specialty Offerings

Yoga for Teens: Today's competitive school environment combined with increasing social pressures can be overwhelming for teenagers. Yoga for Teens is designed for those ages 12-18 to improve strength and flexibility, increase body awareness and to introduce simple stress relief techniques to apply in everyday life.

Yoga for Dancers: Yoga is a highly beneficial supplement to a dancer's rigorous weekly schedule. Making time for a yoga practice allows dancers to improve body awareness, which in turn helps prevent injuries from over-exertion, to strengthen the core and upper body, to lengthen and align the lower body without stressing the joints and to increase endurance. Pranayama and Meditation can also provide dancers with techniques to calm the mind to alleviate stage fright and pre-performance jitters.

Yoga for Tangueros: Yoga is ideal for tango dancers, not only to counteract tightness in the hips and back from dancing, but also to improve dancers' skills. For example, with twisting postures and core strengthening we can increase the disassociation of the torso from the hips for steps such as boleos, giros, over-pivot ochos and back secadas. Pranayama and Meditation are also beneficial to calm the mind and relax the body; helping us dance in the present moment.
