Jeanette’s Bio
Jeanette has always felt a strong connection to movement and dance and progressed naturally into yoga after dancing for many years. In dance, connecting movement and music, one can find freedom and release. Jeanette discovered that yoga inspired similar experiences, but in a more subtle and deeper way. From this discovery, her yoga journey began.
Jeanette’s personal practice grew more potent during her years in law school. She found that yoga grounded her, quieted her mind and brought her to a state of relaxed concentration – all things very necessary for law school. After graduating and taking the bar, Jeanette took the next step in her journey by flying off to yoga school.
In 2007, Jeanette received her 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher training at the Shambhava School of Yoga in the mountains of Colorado. There, she deepened her understanding of yoga and learned how to share it with others.
After Jeanette started teaching, the path soon led her to Prana Flow, a transformational vinyasa practice created by Shiva Rea. Under the mentorship of Maria Garre, Jeanette is working towards completing her 300 hour certification in Prana Flow. Currently, Jeanette is most interested in creating yoga practices that connect our modern city-dwelling selves back to the natural cycles of life – to the seasons, the weather, to the basic elements of earth, water, fire, and air.
By reconnecting the world outside to the world inside, you see that everything is one, and in this knowing, you can’t help but let your light SHINE!
